John's porch swing $200
This is John's latest project. I did not know he was a carpenter, but I wanted a swing for my birthday and wasn't satisfied with the $130 home depot ones that were rather flimsy. He said, well I think i can build one and damn if he didn't! This is the second one he made and it hangs in the front of the restaurant. He is taking orders for them. They are also made from solid reclaimed wood that is full of history and weathered charm.

This is another piece from the cotton house. It was hard to photograph, actually they all look better in person.

Carpe diem is a phrase from a Latin poem by Horace. It is popularly translated as "seize the day". The wood is from the old cotton house on the Ginn place. It was where they stacked the cotton to keep it out of the weather and off the ground.
